Horticultural Therapy & Therapeutic Horticulture
Both horticultural therapy & therapeutic horticulture follow the guidelines for practice as defined by the Canadian Horticultural Therapy Association (CHTA) and are to be delivered by trained horticultural therapy practitioners.
Therapeutic horticulture (TH) is the less formal application of HT used to promote and support group or individual wellness outcomes.
Horticultural therapy (HT) is the formal evidence-based practice of using live plants & plant materials as a goal-directed intervention.

A clinical intervention, CBT helps people identify & challenge recurring harmful thought patterns that influence behaviours
NATURE/ECO THERAPIES

Nature therapies use our innate biological responses to plants & animals and include the practice of forest-bathing (Shinrin-yoku)
MINDFULNESS TECHNIQUES

Mindfulness teaches being present in the moment, without reaction, to take note of your body, mind, & surroundings without judgement
