About the event

Spring is the time for hope, future-looking, and renewal. Join us to explore how therapeutic horticulture can help you as a caregiver to an aging loved one this spring season.
Find your community and join us for an educational and supportive day of hands-on horticulture for caregivers to aging loved ones. In this 3 hour workshop we will discover how spring themed therapeutic horticulture and mindful planting can support your mental health through the demands of caregiving and the unique experience of caring for aging seniors.
Experience the instant relaxation and rejuvenation that comes from connecting to nature and plants and learn plant-based strategies for managing the stress of caregiving during the spring season. We will also explore the ways that you can use therapeutic horticulture to support senior care and learn how plants can help you address memory care, sensory stimulation, low-moderate activity, symptoms of depression, engagement, and aggression with the loved one you care for.
Participants will have the opportunity to practice mindful plant care & get ready for summer by choosing and starting a selection of seeds, preparing a new outdoor plant, and exploring therapeutic horticulture activities designed for safe and effective senior care.
